With over 25 years in the Fort St. John community<\/strong>, Studio 2 Stage Dance Academy has built a strong reputation for quality dance education<\/strong>. Offering classes in Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, and more, the academy is dedicated to inspiring growth, creativity, and confidence<\/strong> in every dancer while fostering a supportive dance community.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Studio 2 Stage offers two divisions<\/strong> of training: Recreational<\/strong> and Competitive<\/strong>.  The recreational division offers a more relaxed<\/strong> and flexible approach to dance education and performance, while the competitive division involves a higher level of commitment<\/strong>, structured training, and participation in multiple performances and events. Both divisions seem to cater to different types of dancers, whether they’re looking for a casual dance experience or aiming for more intense training and performance opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recreational Division:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Classes<\/strong>: This division offers classes for all ages and disciplines of dance. It’s designed for individuals who want to learn and enjoy dancing without the intense commitment required by the competitive division.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Performances<\/strong>: Students in the recreational division have the opportunity to perform in both a Christmas Recital and a Spring Recital. These performances allow students to showcase their progress and skills to friends and family.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Fundraising<\/strong>: There are no fundraising requirements for students in the recreational division. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Exams<\/strong>: Students in the recreational division are allowed to participate in exams upon teacher recommendation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Competitive Division:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Classes<\/strong>: The competitive division involves more structured class requirements, including disciplines like Tap, Jazz, and Ballet, as well as preparation for competitions. This division is suited for dancers who want to take their skills to a more serious level and are willing to commit to a higher level of training.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Performances<\/strong>: Students in the competitive division have a more extensive performance schedule. They participate in the Christmas Recital, Spring Recital, three competitions, school shows, and a gala.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Northern Dance Theatre Society<\/strong>: Competitive division members are part of the Northern Dance Theatre Society, which is a non-profit group that helps the families of the competitive program with workshops, costumes, and entry fees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Fundraising<\/strong>: As members of the Northern Dance Theatre Society there will be required fundraising for each dancer.  Fundraising is a practical and effective way to support the various needs of your dance program, from costumes and competition fees to workshops and community engagement. It allows dancers to pursue their passion and participate in enriching experiences while minimizing financial barriers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Exams<\/strong>: Students in the competitive division are allowed to participate in exams upon teacher recommendation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
